Marbella is known as the 'Playground of the Rich' and within some areas such as Puerto Banus this is certainly true. Having said that, there are some more affordable and nice parts of Marbella and this town offers many opportunities for living and working, although you have to consider that prices for homes and day to day living will be considerably higher that in some of the other areas of the Costa del Sol.

Marbella is divided in 4 main areas, Marbella Town, Puerto Banus, San Pedro de Alcantara and Estepona. Marbella Town is made up of the luxury residential urbanizations, where many famous people live, a wonderful high street offering a wide selection of shops selling designer wear and expensive jewellery, and a quaint old town which boasts the most beautiful plaza called Orange Square.
